Notice of Special Education Records to be Destroyed

In accordance with Federal and State regulations, Midlothian ISD is giving notice of intent to destroy the special education records related to the identification, educational placement, or the provision of Special Education services in the district. Special Education services cease when the student no longer/not eligible for services, graduates, no longer meets age eligibility requirements, or moves from the district. Starting in 2011-2012 the requirement date for destruction is on a five year schedule.

The Midlothian ISD Special Education Records Office will begin destroying special education folders on July 1, 2020 for the school years prior to and including the 2015-2016 school year. If any previous student or parent/guardian of a previous student would like to obtain records for applying for Social Security benefits, rehabilitation services, college entrance, etc., please make a request. If you have questions, please call Special Education Records office at 469-856-5000.

Please bring proof of identity to the Special Education Records office in room 112, located at the L.A. Mills Administration Building, 100 Walter Stephenson, Midlothian, TX 76065.
