Mission & Vision
The mission of the Midlothian Independent School District Library Media Services Department is to empower all for a lifetime of learning.
Our vision is to:
IMPACT academic achievement by supporting curriculum;
CREATE an environment of engaging learning experiences;
FOSTER collaborative opportunities for all stakeholders;
SERVE the unique needs of the learning community;
STRIVE to be at the forefront of educational technology;

Library Policies
Checkout Policy
Students may check out up to three items at a time for a three-week time limit. Items are renewable at the end of this regular check-out period. Additional items may be checked out for an extended period upon request.
Items Available for Check-out
The library has books, ebooks, DVDs, and digital audiobooks available for checkout. Board games and Makerspace equipment can be checked out for in-library use.
Library Assistants
Library Assistants gain valuable work experience while helping to keep the library running smoothly. They are also the first to check out new books and Makerspace tools. Student Assistants work at the circulation desk and complete odd jobs around the library. If you are interested, please contact your librarian.
Library Hours
Our library is open Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Clubs & Organizations can reserve library space by request before and after school, as well as during TASSEL. Please email Mr. Stephenson to confirm a time.
Makerspace
The Heritage Library Makerspace is available for all students to work on independent projects. Students may check out Makerspace materials for in-library use. Students may utilize the 3D printer for a small supply fee. For more information on our Makerspace, please contact your librarian.
Overdue Item Policy
Please return items by the due date posted in your book or request a renewal. Students are expected to pay for lost or damaged items. Any student who owes an obligation at the end of the year will be placed on a hold list for graduation or schedule pickup the following year.
